When you look at this nature-inspired artwork the first thing you see is a close-up view of long, narrow leaves forming the succulent plant's rosette. But then you can't help but notice the flowing motion and intricate patterns, and you find yourself calmed by earth tones of heather green, silver gray and shades of yellow that make this piece relaxing and tranquil.

This botanical wonder is called Haleakala silversword or Ahinahina plant. It is a rare plant found only on the Maui and Hawaii islands, primarily in alpine deserts or bogs, and open forest.
