This is an entrance to a mysterious and sacred place, Wallace All Faiths Chapel at Chapman University in Orange, California. Vertical columns inside the dark grey interior are illuminated by the bright yellow light coming from a spherical lamp.
Your eyes are drawn to a glass door at the end of the passage. Reflective floor surface with a cross shape and geometric patterns of the building's modern architecture come together to create and optical illusion that evokes a sense of religious wonder and contemplation. This space is tranquil, exciting and spiritual, all in one.
