Description
Red Car Museum In Seal Beach, CA - from Urban Theme series, by award-winning artists Ben and Raisa Gertsberg, aka BRG, who collaborate under the name It's a Beautiful World!
This is an old Pacific Electric Red Car which is now a museum devoted to the railway history of the city and the rest of Southern California. In the past Seal Beach, then known as Bay City, was a major tourist attraction and the Red Car line was bringing big crowds looking for entertainment from the inland areas of Los Angeles to the coastal areas of Orange County.
In the seventies the city's historical society bought car No. 1734, which was a tower car, and restored it beautifully. Pacific Electric Railway Co. sign and vintage Railroad Crossing sign add to the nostalgic look and feel of this artwork.
