Description
Joshua Tree National Park Landscape No 2 In Sepia - from Black And White series, by award-winning artists Ben and Raisa Gertsberg, aka BRG, who collaborate under the name It's a Beautiful World!
This unique park is huge and can be brutally hot in summer but its ecosystem is fragile and delicate. It supports a large population of joshua trees, also known as Yucca brevifolia. One area of the park is located in Mojave Desert and the rest is a part of Colorado Desert. High desert and low desert come together to form this enchanting and arid land.
According to legend, Mormon pioneers thought the limbs of the Joshua trees to resemble the upstretched arms of Joshua who would lead them to the promised land.
